About the programme

The EU's programme for education & mobility.

Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe, with an estimated budget of €26.2 billion. Foyle participates in both Key Action 1 and Key Action 2 programmes.

The 2021–2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people's participation in democratic life.

We offer a range of work internships and placements across the island of Ireland. Professional work experience is a great way to add an international element to your CV and improve your level of English. Internships can be funded through Erasmus+ or funded privately (EU students only).

Erasmus+ Teacher Development Course.

The Erasmus+ Teacher Development Course is a flexible, tailored solution for English language teachers who want to refresh and update their teaching and language skills.

The course offers a stimulating blend of theory and practice, and will equip you with a wealth of practical ideas and resources to inject energy into your classes and enhance the teaching and learning experience for both you and your students.

Every school and teaching context is different — we will work with you to design a course that is relevant to your teaching needs, delivered in a motivating yet relaxed atmosphere.

Who is this course for?

  • Non-native teachers of English looking to develop their language and teaching skills
  • Teachers of teenagers, young adults and adults (12 years upwards)
  • Teachers with a strong intermediate level of English or above (B1+)

How it works

Build your own course.

Each group decides how many hours of study they would like to do — 30, 40 or 50 hours. The next step is to choose your modules, combining the compulsory module with as many elective modules as you need.

Our EU projects.

We have been at the forefront of improving quality in VET mobility for years — from Leonardo da Vinci partnerships through to Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships, focusing on ECVET principles, VET practices, wellbeing, digital skills and youth.

Robots4Inclusion

Educational robotics to support inclusive education in primary schools — promoting inclusion, diversity and digital, informatic and technical skills. Six partners across Germany, Türkiye, Spain, Lithuania and Finland.

A professional internship programme offering real work experience in another European country. Participants plan a personalised itinerary and build the skills that improve their access to the labour market.

Good practices of the after-Erasmus+ for learners and trainers — strengthening mentoring competencies and helping adult learners capitalise on the soft, vocational and intercultural skills gained during mobility.

Against the Fake World

Tackling Fake News and Media Literacy among young people aged 14–18 — through research, student surveys and focus groups, stakeholder interviews and a final report of key findings across Europe.

Creating Opportunities for Adult Learners through entrepreneurial competencies — a pan-European pathway to up-skill and re-skill the workforce, supporting self-employment and progression to upper-secondary level.

We have also led and partnered on PRO-move, MOBILITEACH, the EYE Project, Skills#EU and VET towards ECVET, plus projects improving professional and vocational language and building linguistic learning platforms. We are committed to quality services for VET learners and staff, and are keen to co-operate on future projects.
