Students studying an English Language course which is between 6-11 months in duration can apply for a Short Term Study Visa.

EU students will require this visa to study for more than 6 months, unless they or a close family member has applied to the EU Settlement Scheme before 1st Janaury 2021.

Please read the guidance below from the UK government website.

How long you can stay

You can stay in the UK for the length of your course plus an extra 30 days as long as your stay is no longer than 11 months.

When to apply and how long it takes

If you need a visa, you must apply online before you come to the UK.

As part of your application, you’ll need to book an appointment at a visa application centre to prove your identity and provide your documents. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel.

Getting a decision

Once you’ve applied online, proved your identity and provided your documents, you’ll usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.

Fees & Healthcare Surcharge

It costs £186 for this visa.

You’ll also have to pay the healthcare surcharge as part of your online application. It usually costs £470. This is so you can use the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK.

You must prove that you are a genuine student and that you plan to leave the UK at the end of your course. Please click here to read other evidence which you must provide.

Foyle International will provide you with a Letter of Acceptance for your English Language course. It will contain your course information and accommodation details (if Foyle International has arranged your accommodation for you).
